Candy Bouquets and Thank You Notes!

at 9:45 PM
It's that time of the year again! Yup... End of the school year! Two more days left, and both are minimum days. This was my first year at this school, and I think it went wonderfully. There were a lot of people, especially in the front office, who really helped me make this year what it was. Being new, there were a lot of things I didn't know... What forms to fill out, who to ask for what, the procedures for detention, ZAP, grade changes, referrals, days off, interventions, ELLs, trainings... the list goes on and on and on.

People in my district, and especially at my school, are helpful, sweet, and wonderful people. The majority of them go above and beyond their job descriptions, without even giving it a second thought. So I wanted to thank them.

I saw these adorable candy bar bouquets at Safeway for Mother's Day. They were made with real size candy bars, and were in these adorable plastic vases. I decided I could create them cheaper at the dollar store.

After searching far and wide, I had to settle on these vases. That's the way dollar stores work. They have everything you want, until you want them.

I bought some fun sized candies on sale at Walmart and got creative with tissue paper, straws, and tape.

I went searching on Pinterest for a cute thank you note to attach and found this site.
She has some adorable things on her blog and I highly suggest checking them out. While Heirloom Paperie has some items for purchase, these were on her "freebie" page.

I printed them out, signed my name, and cut them out so I could attach them to the vases.

I thought about using Zots (my favorite) but decided that normal tape would suffice, so that the vases could be reused.

I'll be handing them out tomorrow.

Now, there is one lady in the office who is the hub of all activity. She knows everything, and everyone - and that includes parents. She's the gatekeeper, and the information seeker, and she helps out everyone in a million different ways. So I wanted to do something extra special for her, too. She'll get a candy bouquet, but she'll also get a more personalized gift.

I found this lovely idea here.

I printed out the printable on cardstock.

I used Zots to help secure the bottom of the drink sleeve so that the gift card wouldn't fall out.

Then I used Zots to secure the sleeve to the printable.

Stick in the gift card and you're done!

Happy crafting.
