And, yes! I even have a whatnot! haha. (Laura Ingalls Wilder reference to a triangle shaped shelf in the corner for knicknacks)
But, of course, even making an apartment a home is an adventure! Especially if it's the first time. =)
And so, a photoblast of my newly acquired accoutrements.
Teal, teal, teal ...and coffee!
The picture on the left of that photograph was from my Secret Santa at school. I framed it and put it in the kitchen. The idea is to get more coffee-themed wall decor for the kitchen, because, what else is more ideal?
The lantern up top was on sale at Michael's for 5$ and lives on my whatnot.
The vase in the second photo was an awesome find at the 99Cent Store. I'd been looking for something teal and tall to put on my empty shelf in the living room. Now I need something cute and shorter to go next to it on the shelf.
The heart-shaped candy dish I got on clearance at Target for $1.99.
I've been covetting a Martha Stewart bench for my "entryway" (the back of my couch, by my door) and found one cheaper at Target. I wanted a place to sit on to put my shoes on prior to leaving, and in that, I am fully satisfied with my purchase. However, I was hoping that the cubbies in the bench would fit my scrapbooks. Alas, I forgot to include the bottom panel in my measurements, and the cubbies are too small for the albums. This leaves me with empty cubbies (any ideas what to fill them with?) and a need for a new idea of how to store/display my albums.
It's fairly easy to put together with tools bought at Safeway (screw drivers) and Target (hammer).
Ta-da!
It'll suffice until I get my mudroom I've been dreaming of. =)
Also! I recently, finally, acquired a bed!
Thanks to Stephen for helping me put it together, despite my lack of tools!
Unfortunately the "Full/Queen" bed I ordered is actually just a full and doesn't fit my mattress!
You can see how it hangs over the edge a bit.
But we created a solution! And pushed it against the wall.
Ta-da!
Now nobody can tell.
